Recent reports on gender disparities by the European Commission highlight the importance of continuing to work to promote interest in the technology sector and break down gender stereotypes, especially for the high-tech sector. These stereotypes are in fact already present at school, long before women enter the workforce. Fincons is firmly committed to raising awareness among new generations and does so through various initiatives, both in training and by promoting an increasingly inclusive culture through the support of dedicated events such as Hackher, a leading Italian event dedicated to gender equality sponsored by Fincons.
The event, which will take place on May 20th in Catania at Palazzo Biscari, aims to break down the professional gender gap in the high-tech sector with a project of dual value: on one hand, it has the objective of bringing as many girls as possible closer to the IT world, on the other hand, it offers a discussion on gender equality issues through a panel with addresses from role models in the world of entrepreneurship, institutions, and business leaders. The day will involve 100 high school students who, under the supervision of expert coaches, will compete on the development of an application.
