Efficient water management requires constant monitoring and timely action. The Orion project (Optimised water pipeline digital twin for Resilient and Innovative manufacturing, inspection, and testing) aims to enhance the performance of water distribution networks through an advanced, modular, and configurable Digital Twin, integrated with smart pipelines equipped with sensors.
This innovative solution enables real-time water flow and infrastructure integrity monitoring and control, facilitating proactive maintenance planning. Thanks to predictive analysis, potential leaks and structural weaknesses can be identified in advance, significantly improving operational efficiency.
At the core of Orion lies the integration of predictive Artificial Intelligence models, capable of detecting anomalies, pinpointing failures, and supporting "what-if" simulations based on several pipeline conditions. These AI features enrich the Digital Twin, turning it into a powerful, intelligent decision-making tool.
With its strong expertise in system integration, Fincons Group is responsible for designing and developing the cloud-based components for data collection from the sensor-equipped pipelines, as well as for the monitoring and control services of the water network. Fincons also collaborated with EKSO, a company with proven experience in smart piping solutions, to develop the AI algorithms that form the intelligent core of the project.
